Patch Testing – We finally have some answers!

Skin Irritant: 1, Three Year Old: 0….NOT FOR LONG!

I want to share a bit of my son’s story as I finally see some light at the end of the tunnel and maybe it will help you too.  Very long story short (not really)…my almost 4 year old son has been experiencing severe skin issues for the past 2 years.   It’s been diagnosed as eczema and seems to get worse when it’s hot and humid outside and it also gets exacerbated by other things (which we have been trying to figure out the triggers for over a year).  I have read multiple articles that sympathize with us and basically say it’s really hard to determine triggers but I think we finally have a potential winner.  For anyone that struggles with eczema or has kids that do, you know how frustrating it gets!

After numerous skin prick tests and elimination processes, we did find out he has some standard allergies (cats, dogs, dust, ragweed, grass….yeah, pretty much all the things little boys love).  He takes an OTC allergy medicine daily and it does help with sneezing, itchy eyes, and runny nose but nothing has stopped the skin irritations.  We support healthy skin with ointments and oils but just when we think we have it under control, it comes back worse.  We have even purchased air purifiers in our home and changed out all our detergents and his shampoos/body wash to free and clear brands (I’ve listed what we use below).   His dermatologist finally decided to do patch testing on him to see if we can pinpoint something specific.

Well, I had no idea what patch testing was and couldn’t find anyone who has had it done.  So it was a little scary for a 3 year old but he did awesome!  It started with him getting 50 tests/patches on his back on a Monday.  He had to keep them on until Wednesday and the dermatologist checked for irritations.   He had to go back on Friday to see if anything else became irritated.  The hardest part of the whole process was not getting them wet!  So, no baths for a week in the middle of August for an active 3 year was not fun, but we managed.

Day 1Day 3 Day 5

What did we find out?  By Wednesday, one patch stood out as an irritant…drumroll, please…. Methylisothiazolinone (MI for short).  Say what?!?!   Apparently it’s in a lot of shampoos, cosmetics, detergents, etc. and is a very common allergen.  Google it…I had no idea!  So the dermatologist’s first question was what do we use on him. Luckily, over the past 2 years of issues, we only use what was recommended by our dermatologist on him and after checking, they DON’T contain MI.  Whew…  So then how is he coming in contact with it?  Our detergent?  Nope, we changed that too. He then asked what shampoo my husband and I use….there you have it!  Both of our shampoos have MI but I couldn’t imagine it was what was causing his issues. Then I started thinking…our routine is that I usually shower as they are winding down with my husband before bed. Then I will lay with my son for 10 minutes or so as he falls asleep.  This means, my hair is wet and freshly shampooed and I never re-wash my hands after a shower.  So, I’m on his pillow and he always likes when I ‘tickle’ his hair or face which seems to put him to sleep. Well, where have his biggest irritations been…his face and scalp!  No!  I’ve been doing this my son?  I know, I had no idea and can’t blame myself but wow, I never would have thought my shampoo would irritate his skin.

We went back for his check-up  on Friday and the MI mark was still irritated and now 3 more allergens surfaced:  Bacitracin, Fragrance Mix I, and Bronopol.   So, where do we go from here?  Well, we just found this out today so we’re just starting to work on this. I’m obviously going to get a new shampoo/conditioner and be sure to check every label we use around the house.   I will keep you posted in a few weeks if it seems we’ve actually pinpointed the main trigger and how we’re managing.   The doctor did say if we are very diligent it will still take 6-8 weeks to get it out of his system.  The good news is that A LOT of what we are using for him already is clear of Methylisothiazolinone but you have to look in places you didn’t even think, like dish soap!  As you know from my other posts, I use Young Living Essential Oils and a lot of their household and beauty products. So I immediately looked into their products and to my joy, they DON’T use it any of the products we use in our house AND they even specifically call it out on the product flyer for their Thieves Dish Soap. I’m sure I saw this disclaimer when I bought the soap but didn’t think twice about it!  Well, it just makes me that much happier to and confident with their products!

Thieves

So, I’ll update you in a few weeks and let you know if we’ve seen a difference (I pray we will).  I can’t believe he’s struggled with this for so long and turns out to be an allergy to something that shouldn’t even be in products!  One big red flag I’ve noticed is that a lot of products (specifically cleaning products) didn’t even put the ingredients on their label and I had to go to the internet to find it!   All I know now, is I will read EVERY label and buy our household products from a trusted source that discloses the ingredients on labels (like Young Living)!

Outdoor Spray

Summer’s coming…Are you ready?

With the warm weather upon us, not only are we outside a lot more but so are those pesky, annoying buggies!  I’ve had a lot of people recently ask me share my ‘recipe’ for the outdoor spray I used last summer that left me ‘bug-bothered’  free so here it is!  I whipped up a couple bottles last year and kept them everywhere…diaper bag, car, stroller, beach bag, and purse!  We never left home without a bottle!

Outdoor spray recipe

Outdoor spray recipe

My true testimony was when we hit the Jersey shore and encountered those nasty biting flies.  Well, they must not like the smell as much as I do because a couple sprays at first sight and then they stayed out of sight!  Whew!  We were able to enjoy the beach without constantly swatting at each other!

I even sprayed it on the lights outside our front door (as needed) and we were no longer dive bombed when we took our dog out at night!   You guys need to make this ASAP!  It’s SO easy!

All I use is distilled water, witch hazel, and essential oils.  Purification oil has Citronella oil in the blend and we all know how that works!  And, even though I love the smells of Purification, Peppermint, and Lavender… Lemongrass is one of my favorites. I’ve added it to the ‘recipe’ and everyone loves the scent of the combo!  All of the oils but the Lemongrass comes in the Premium Starter Kit so I’m offering a promo this month to anyone that joins and orders and PSK – a FREE bottle of Lemongrass and a 2 oz. glass spray bottle!

Summer promo

*I purchased the water and witch hazel at my local grocery store and the spray bottles here.

Looking for a great gift for Mom or Dad?

It’s that time of year again when we celebrate all of the special people in our lives for their support and love they have given us over the years.   Whether it’s your mother or father, aunt or uncle, sister or brother, a close friend or relative, or yourself (don’t forget to celebrate you), you rack your brain trying to figure out something amazing to get them to express your love and gratitude.

Flowers?  Yes, one of the most popular gifts (especially for the women in your life) and what person doesn’t LOVE flowers? But in all honesty, these are the LAST thing I want as a gift.  They are usually beautiful for a few days at best and then they start to wilt and die off.  I hate having to throw them away knowing how expensive they were.  Even though they did bring me joy for a few days, they don’t last.  And as I’m trying to KonMari the heck out of my life right now (I’ll do a separate post about this), if it doesn’t bring me joy, it’s going!

Jewelry?  Heck yeah (again, especially for the women in your life)!  I can’t argue here, I love jewelry just like the next person but if you are anything like me, you end up wearing the same staple pieces all the time.  And come to think about it, not sure if it’s just me, but I don’t go too many places to wear my jewelry now that I have 2 little ones at home.  I’m lucky if I remember to put my wedding rings on in the morning (that is after I get a chance to clean the play-dough off of them)!

So, what’s left (especially for the special men in your life)?  I think the BEST gift you can give someone (man or woman) is the gift of health and wellness.  Honestly, I don’t know many people that wouldn’t want to try something that will help them improve their overall health.  That’s where the Young Living Essential Oils Premium Starter Kit comes in!  You have so much bundled in this to help you or that special person get started that it couldn’t be much easier!  Check out how these oils can help you:

PSK Essential Oils

In addition to getting all of these oils in the starter kit, you get a ton more…including a DIFFUSER!  Check out the options:

It’s Official…My skin care routine is ‘oily’!

Okay, it’s been a LONG time since my last post and I thought it was about time I updated you on how I’m using my essential oils. It’s official, my entire skin regimen is Young Living products!  I’m coming up on my one year anniversary of using Young Living Essential Oils and let me tell you from experience, these are not products that you jump on the band wagon and order and then let sit on your counter and never use again!   I can honestly say, we use oils EVERY day in our house and we can’t get enough!

Let me give you a glimpse of my daily skin care routine. You can see by the picture, all are essential oil based products!  I won’t talk about all of them today, just a few of those in my daily routine!

Skin care cabinet

I start with Orange Blossom Facial Wash which is a nonabrasive, free-rinsing cleanser that removes dirt and makeup without stripping skin of natural oils. I love this because a really small amount (think less than the size of dime) goes a long way! It makes my skin feel so clean and smooth, I don’t think I’ll ever go back to another face wash.

Orange Blossom

My next step in the routine is Cel-Lite Magic Massage Oil!  I lather this on my thighs after my shower to nourish and tone skin and help detoxify and cleanse my skin. I started using this in May before the summer bathing suit season and I use it EVERY day.  I have noticed a difference in my skin tone and am not as self-conscious wearing those short shorts (well, a 4 inch in-seam…but still short for me)!  I’ll be honest , I didn’t love the smell of this one at first but now I love it!  I guess I really needed it!

Cel-Lite

On to my facial lotion…I have a few from Young Living that I interchange but one I use daily is the Wolfberry Eye Cream.  This cream eases the appearance of puffiness and dark circles around the eyes, and is used to promote skin tightening.  Again, a SMALL amount goes a long way! I use this morning and night and I’ve actually had people comment on how good I look (usually said in surprise since I have 2 crazy little boys at home)!

Wolfberry

In addition to the eye cream, I use Boswellia Wrinkle Cream all over my face and neck.  This is such a powerhouse cream that nourishes skin for a smoother, more youthful appearance, supports collagen to improve skin firmness and minimize fine lines, soothes and softens the skin, and enhances collagen formation….ahh, deep breathe!  This is AMAZING!

Boswellia

Last but not least, I use  Frankincense Essential Oil neat (meaning it doesn’t require dilution and can be put right on your skin).  This oil comes in the Premium Starter Kit and is inspirational!  It has so many uses but I particularly like as it may help smooth the appearance of healthy-looking skin!  I dab a drop on my forehead and the areas around my mouth and eyes (careful not to get it in your eyes though).  If you want to know if it’s helping… I attended a wedding this past weekend and I was ‘complaining’ how I’ll be having a milestone birthday next year and the person I was talking to genuinely said, ’what, 30?’  I laughed and said add 10 years (and she immediately became best friend for the night)!

Frank

I also just ordered the Sheerlume and Essential Beauty Serum but haven’t used them yet. Once I incorporate those too, I’ll let you know how I like them!

I’ve replaced everything I have previously used on my skin with Young Living products.  I am someone who always thought the more expensive something was, the better it was. Well,  it’s eye-opening when you start to really look at ingredients and realize facial creams I paid double for were toxic and don’t even compare to the products I’ve been using from Young Living!

Crock Pot Cinnamon Toast Casserole

(using Young Living Essential Oil)

Cinnamon Oil

After searching for easy breakfast recipes for the holidays, I found a delicious French Toast recipe posted on Recipes that Crock using French bread.  However, when I went to the grocery store (on Christmas Eve), all the French bread was sold out so I replaced it with a loaf of Challah bread.  Since the texture of the breads are quite different, I ended up tweaking the recipe a bit to accommodate.  Then I ended up not having any cinnamon and realized I could use my Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil to spice it up!

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf Challah bread
  • 8 eggs
  • 2 c milk
  • 1 drop of Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil (or 1 ½ t ground cinnamon)

Crumble ingredients

  • ¼ c butter, softened to room temperature
  • ½ c brown sugar, packed
  • ½ t vanilla

Instructions

  • Cut one loaf of Challah bread into cubes and place in a large bowl.  Bread
  • In a separate bowl, add your eggs, milk, and cinnamon bark essential oil (or ground cinnamon) and beat together until blended. Ingredients
  • Pour the egg/milk mixture over your bread cubes and toss until all your bread is coated.  Mixture
  • Cover and place in your refrigerator for at least 4 hours or overnight. (I always make it the night before and then put in the my crock pot first thing in the morning)

Crumble ingredients: (thanks so much to Recipes that Crock…I didn’t change this a bit and never thought a crumble would be so easy)

Crumble

  • Mix together butter, brown sugar, and vanilla. (I found using a fork works best)
  • Cover and place in your refrigerator until needed.

At Baking time:

  • Pour the coated bread into a greased slow cooker.
  • Sprinkle the butter mixture over the top of the bread mixture.
  • Cover and cook on low for 4 hours or high for 2 hours.  Finished

ENJOY!

Bathroom Makeover! Painting? Who Me?

My husband and I had one room left in our house to paint and have been dreading it…our master bathroom.   We have been putting it off because ideally we would LOVE to replace the tile, tub, shower, and vanity but we don’t have money in our budget for a full renovation.  So the next best thing is painting and updating the fixtures and hardware!

Before (I wish I would have taken a better before pic but I didn’t know I was going to write this):

Before

The other reason for procrastinating with this one is not only do we hate painting bathrooms (with all the taping we have to do) but this one in particular because it is in our bedroom.  That means we have to deal with the paint smell for days or even weeks.  I say weeks because with two little ones at home and both of us working full-time, it doesn’t leave much time to focus on it while making sure the boys don’t get covered in paint (that has happened once during this project already)!

We decided to bite the bullet and just do it.  My husband started with the ceiling and we had to let it dry overnight (as I mentioned above, we have to tape it off so the process goes very slowly).  I was dreading sleeping in our bedroom with the smell until I remembered I have essential oils to help.  I plugged in my amazing diffuser from Young Living and added a few drops of Purification Essential Oil and within no time I didn’t smell the paint anymore!  Magic!  When Purification Essential Oil is diffused, it helps to purify and cleanse the air from disagreeable odors (like paint).  I added some Lavender Essential Oil to the diffuser before going to sleep and it was amazing.  We both woke up refreshed and didn’t even realize we started painting!

During:

During

purification

We have very neutral colors in the rest of our house so we decided to add some color to our bathroom.   The color is Benjamin Moore’s Cupid’s Dart (and we used their Aura Bath and Spa paint).   We also updated the light fixtures and mirror, painted the cabinets (rather than replacing the whole vanity) and replaced the old electrical switches and outlets and VOILA….it looks like a new bathroom for a heck of a lot less than a full renovation!

After:

After

**These oils have helped our family so much over the past few months and this was an added bonus!  Think of all the ‘stinky’ things you might have in your house…diapers, pets, garbage bags, smelly shoes, teenage boy s… you NEED Purification Essential Oil!  It is so much better to get rid of smell with an all-natural solution than just masking it with toxic, chemical-infused  products!

Santa’s Helper Stress Away Scrub

Sugar Scrub 1

Need to de-stress and perk up over the holidays?  Well, a few oily friends and I decided to team up to share our favorite holiday ‘recipes’ made with Young Living essential oils.  I can’t believe how many uses and benefits there are for these magnificent oils outside of making the world smell a lot better!

I chose one of my favorite recipe, a sugar scrub.  Here’s why…

If you are like me, even before the turkey is cooked on Thanksgiving you are thinking (or stressing) about the upcoming holiday season.  Whether it’s finding that perfect gift for that perfect someone (or that gift your child thinks they can’t live without) or preparing for those holiday parties and dinner, my stress-level goes off the charts starting about mid-November!   Also, if you are like me and live in a cold-weather state, as soon as the weather changes, so does my skin (especially my hands).  Well, what could be better than to having something that will help with both?

This super easy recipe for my Holiday Helper Sugar Scrub is the perfect gift for someone that is hard to shop for (because everyone will love this).  Or better yet, perfect for yourself since it can get you through the winter and holidays by helping calm everyday stresses and improving concentration while at the same time exfoliating your skin leaving it silky smooth holiday ready (and smelling fabulous)!

Santa's Helper Stress Away Scrub

This usually gets me enough to fill 4 small half pint jar containers (shown in the picture) but you can use any jar/container you like!  Decorate it for the perfect holiday gift or to enjoy yourself!

I used 2 of my favorite Young Living Essential Oils, Stress Away and Peppermint…Enjoy!   If you aren’t already using Young Living Essential Oils and are interested in getting started…Check out the post specific to signing up and please, let me know if you have ANY questions!  I’m offering an AMAZING promotion for anyone signing up for a Premium Starter Kit in December.  Not only will you get the awesome starter kit with diffuser and 11 (yes, 11 essential oils), I’ll provide you with a free Quick Reference Guide and a free eBook with recipes to help you make your own holiday gifts! November’s here…What’s in my Essential Rewards order?

Is it just me or did November get here in a blink of an eye?!?   We still have Halloween candy tempting us but yet, every store now has holiday decorations and music playing and we didn’t even say hello and goodbye to the turkey yet!  I do have to say, I LOVE the holiday season and am doing everything not to pull the decorations out myself (since I do Thanksgiving should have it’s proper day)!

As I said in October’s post, by now most of you have gotten your kits and I hope loving your essential oils.  I hope you are starting to see how they can help your family, whether by mood boosting, promoting restful sleep, fighting germs, or calming you as you prepare for the holiday season!  An update from us…my son DID get into his shark costume although in the 2 weeks from initial tantrum-filled dress rehearsal to the big day, it didn’t fit him.  We couldn’t get the shark head over his head (which is probably why he wore it without too much fuss).  I can’t believe he grew that much and that fast!  I’m seeing a theme here…a blink of an eye.

Keeping with the theme, my November Essential Rewards orders was filled with some of my must-haves that I run out each month. I’m starting to learn I need to order more than one of some of the oils to make it between orders.  As I did with October, I’d thought it would be helpful for you if I show you what I got this month and why and maybe it will spark and interest for you too!

What’s in my Essential Reward Order this Month (November)?

November ER Order

Before I jump in, I have to tell you about an oil blend I forgot to talk about in October (it was in the picture)Deep Relief Roll-onOMG! This is my new favorite oil!  I tend to hold a lot of stress and tension in my neck and shoulders and usually tends to move into a full-on headache.  Well, as soon as I start to feel the occasional stress or anxiety coming on, I roll on some Deep Relief and I can feel it working within minutes!  It definitely has a tingle to it because of the Peppermint Essential Oil and Wintergreen Essential Oil in the blend and that’s the part I love.  The smell is quite addicting to me too!  So, if you haven’t tried this yet, I would HIGHLY recommend it!

Onto the staples every month….Lavender, Thieves, Peace & Calming, and Ningxia Red!

Lavender Essential Oil and Peace & Calming Essential Oil:  As I mentioned in October’s post (here), these have been miracle oils for us with helping the kids relax at bedtime and promoting a peaceful sleep. Peace & Calming was still out of stock this month so I ordered the sample packets to help me get through the month!

Thieves Essential Oil and Ningxia Red:  You can read more about why I love these in October’s post but I do have to add one thing.  I ran out of Ningxia Red before my order came in this month so I didn’t drink it for a few days.  Let me tell you, I could definitely tell the difference and it just made realize to stock up on this too so I don’t run out again!

New oils/items this month:

Cedarwood Essential Oil: I kept reading about Cedarwood for help with relaxation and also for being great for helping with skin issues.  So this seemed like a double-duty oil for me.  My scalp gets very dry every time the seasons change.  Well it’s that time again and I usually us an Rx to help it but I thought I’d give this a whirl.  I tried it for the first time last night (applied it neat to my scalp). I’ll keep you posted next month about how I make out. Bonus…when I use it before bedtime, the calming effects also come in handy!

Tranquil Roll-on: This is a blend of 3 oils (lavender, cedarwood and roman chamomile essential oils) and helps to calm and relax the body and mind. This is a roll-on too so it’s VERY convenient!  I used this for the first time last night too and let me tell you…I slept like a baby!  Keep in mind, I did have cedarwood (neat) on too but, WOW, I feel well-rested today!

Moisturizing Lip Balm Collection: This collection has 3 lip balms (Vanillamint…exclusively available in the holiday catalog, Grapefruit, and Lavender balms).  I just LOVE any and all lip products so I wanted to try this.  They are made with essential oils, and according to the YL site, used to prevent dry lips and keep them moist and supple.  Who wouldn’t want that at this this time of year?!?  These would also make a great gift because they are packaged adorably!  I already have a few in my December order to help check off my Christmas list!

Last but not least…. Essential Oil Bottle Labels!  There is a cap label for every oil and I can’t believe how excited was for something so simple!  My goal now is to use every one!

So…what did ordering these oils get me for FREE?

I got 2 FREE oils!  Christmas Spirit Essential Oil and Ginger Essential Oil.  My list of faves is growing because Christmas Spirit is GREAT!  It’s a blend of orange, cinnamon, and spruce essential oils that just screams holiday season!  Also (this might age myself) but as soon as I opened the bottle it took me back to my childhood and those cinnamon toothpicks. Anyone remember those? In hindsight, I have no idea how my parents let us have those but I remember ‘chewing’ on them because they tasted SO good.  So, I felt like a child again (if only for a few minutes)!  As for ginger, according to the YL site, this is supposed to help support the digestive system as well as commonly used to soothe, comfort, and balance digestive discomfort. I’m sure I’ll be trying this a lot over the holidays!

So…that’s my haul for November!  I hope it was helpful for you and prompted you to add something new to your Essential Rewards order!

* Note the price listed in the Young Living Essential Oil links are the Retail price but if you are a wholesale member you enjoy a ~24% discount!

What’s in my October Essential Rewards Order?

Here it is, mid-October, and by now most of you have gotten your kits and I hope loving your essential oils (if you haven’t joined YL yet and are interested in ordering…click here)!  I hope you are starting to see how they can help your family, whether by boosting your mood, promoting restful sleep, fighting those nasty germs, or calming you as you prepare for Halloween!  I’m busy using Stress Away in my house as my almost 2 year screams when I pull out the ‘adorable’ shark costume to try on.  Of course he is scared of it so…it looks like he will be going to his school party and trick-or-treating as an adorable, blonde 2 year old!

Anyway, on to oils…Even though I love my oils so far, I still find all the information about how each one can help VERY overwhelming.  What I’ve learned is, as I read someone’s testimony or an article about an oil that would benefit me or my family, I hop into the Virtual Office and add it to my Essential Rewards order.  Then, the day before my order processes, I go back in and adjust my order (because I’m finding I usually have a TON of oils waiting for me in there).  I adjust it get to the amounts for the monthly promo and save it (fingers crossed nothing goes out of stock before it processes)!  But, what I’m finding is that I forget why I put some of the oils in there!  So, I’m starting to keep a file of WHY I added a specific oil to my order.   I thought it would be helpful for you if I show you what I got this month and why and maybe it will spark an interest for you too!

What’s in my Essential Reward Order this Month (October)?

Staples every month….Lavender, Thieves, Peace & Calming, and Ningxia Red!

Lavender Essential Oil and Peace & Calming Essential Oil:  These have been miracle oils for us with helping the kids relax at bedtime and then have a peaceful sleep. I dilute them and apply to their feet and then diffuse them in their rooms throughout the night and we have been SO lucky they seem to work wonders!  My only complaint is Peace & Calming is out of stock right now so I ordered sample packets in October and emptied them all into my P&C bottle!   I CAN’T WAIT for this to come back in stock.  But, you lucky ones that have ordered the Premium Starter Kit…it’s in there…so ENJOY!

Thieves Essential Oil:  This is part of our nighttime ritual (and before daycare). I apply this (diluted, of course) to their feet to help fight those nasty germs out there!  Also, my littlest one is teething and this seems to help (he got his first tooth without me even knowing)!  I also LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the smell and end up diffusing this with everything!  As the YL site indicates, it’s supposed to help eliminate airborne bacteria…so I put a few drops in the diffuser every day!

Ningxia Red: I LOVE this stuff!  I drink an ounce first thing in the morning and then another ounce about 3:00 when I’m in my afternoon slump.  It gives me the boost (and the nutrients) I need to get through the day.  I find myself being so much more productive and in an overall better mood!  I really love the taste of it too!  I can really tell if I miss a serving!

New oils/items this month:

Thieves Household Cleaner: My wonderful sponsor gave me a sample of this in a spray bottle when I went to her information session. I used it to clean my wood tables and kitchen counter the next day and I was hooked!  I loved the smell, of course, but also loved how it cleaned up my sticky, fingerprinted wooden end/coffee tables!  I couldn’t find anything to clean these and they looked great!  Plus, I like the fact that I’m not using chemicals to clean (especially where my little ones play and eat)!  Needless to say, my sample bottle was almost empty so I needed some of my own!

Thieves Waterless Hand Purifier:  This one is pretty obvious…I love the smell and with 2 kids in daycare…cold and flu season starting…I need all the help I can get! It is great to keep in your purse or diaper bag for waterless cleaning!

Clarity Essential Oil:  I read someone’s testimony about this one and I got intrigued.  Ever since I’ve had my kids and trying to juggle a family and a full-time job, I just feel like I could use a little ‘help’ focusing (I know some of you feel the same way)!  YL’s site indicates this helps promote a clear mind, alertness, and mental sharpness so I’m going to diffuse and apply during my work day.

Exodus II Essential Oil: Again, I read someone’s testimony and looked into this one.  This is a blend of 8 essential oils and is used for supporting the immune system. So, trying to stock up for the fall/winter with 2 kids in daycare, I thought this would be good to have on hand for myself.

2014 Wellness Oils Mini Collection: This one was spur of the moment!  I had Melaleuca (Alternifolia) (aka Tea Tree Oil) in my Essential Rewards order but it went out of stock the day it was processing.  I didn’t want to miss out on any freebies (from the monthly promo) so I called up Customer Service and picked something out of the holiday catalog to add!  I am SO glad I did!  This collection has 3 essential oils: Thieves, Citrus Fresh, Ravintsara.  First of all, it is packaged ADORABLY!  It would be perfect for a gift (although I already opened all the oils myself)! Second, it has Thieves Essential Oil and who can get enough Thieves?  Not me!  Third, I love all the citrus oils because not only do they have so many uses, they smell SO good.  This one is no exception!  Plus, the YL site indicates this is a relaxing, calming blend great for children and adults and supports the immune system and overall health while bringing about a sense of well-being, creativity, and feelings of joy!  Who wouldn’t love that!

So…what did ordering these oils get me for FREE (yes, I said FREE)?

I got 3 FREE oils!!!  And they are 2 of my faves (and 1 new one):  Orange Essential Oil, Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil, and Nutmeg Essential Oil!  Can someone say our house smells like fall and we are ready for the holidays?!?!  Plus, for being on Essential Rewards, I got almost 25 points to use toward future products!  What more can you ask for?

So…that’s my haul for October!  I hope it was helpful for you and prompted you to add something new to your Essential Rewards order!  Please contact me if you have ANY questions or want more info!
